giving myself the finger

i have broken a finger.

i am typing this with one hand. i hate typing with one hand.

though i plan to do some behind-the-scenes work on the way this site operates, further development of the taido/blog project in the form of new content is on hold until i can type at a reasonable speed again. in the meantime, feel free to comment on what is currently online.

  1. Hey - don’t get those! But, seriously, I hope your finger heals up alright. And your website here is nicely laid out and informative. :)

  2. yeah, the Okochi Reminder somehow managed to slip my mind as i was upside-down-and-falling. funny how, just like the man himself, the warning escapes me just when i stand to learn the most from it… well, i’ll survive anyway, and i don’t expect to lose any mobility once this heals, so i’m not too upset about it in the meantime.

thanks for the encouragement and kind words about the site. i hope all is well with you.

  3. Andy Sensei,

I don’t know if you remember me; you have no reason to. I’m a brown belt “Intermediate” studying Taido at the U.S. Honbu. Somehow I came across your site while searching ‘Taido’ on Google. And, I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed reading your postings! I’ve seen a window into the world of Taido that I’d never had the opportunity to see before, through this blog. However, I would take quite too much of your time if I explained that. So, thank you for the blog. Also, under your “Yudansha” post I have spelling correction. My mom, Angela Stadnick (correction from “stednek”), recieved her black belt in ‘05.

  4. whoa! you must have been bored to search through enough pages of google to find this site! i’m glad you did. thanks for the kind words.

of course, i remember you natalie - i’m like santa claus in that respect, but much younger, and i prefer beer to milk.

i’m very happy if my writings have given you some new perspectives. if any time you have any questions, feel free to ask - i’m only an email away.

…your mother’s name has been corrected. i apologize for the error - names and spelling are two of my biggest weaknesses.

  5. A beer-drinking Santa Claus! Now that’s something I’d like to see. Although the beer-drinking Taidoka seems to be the rule and not the exception; somehow I found myself at a bar last night with Sensei, Mike Cowan, Clinton Hammond and my mom. Needless to say, Cowan Sensei and I savored the flavor of our Cokes. Anyway. Thanks for fixing the spelling, I appreciate that. And, I’m sure that sometime in the future I’ll be e-mailing you with a long list of Taido-related questions to ask your take on things. Thanks again…
